Dorian cosplayed with me, and what's more, he enjoyed it. That Han Solo costume was such a pain to make, all hand-sewn thank-you-very-much, but he enjoyed it, and that's what counts. He kept making little comments about me cosplaying inaccurately, but that's untrue.
I decided not to go with the traditional New Hope Leia since I didn't want to look like a pile of laundry, and thought the gentle Giants Maquette would be a little more towards my liking. And it's accurate by the Maquette, damn it. I sadly didn't have the time to build a blaster like Leia used in the movie, but was able to find my blaster prop in DownTown Disney while at the convention. I just need to spray paint it black, and I think I'll be happy with it.
I love the buns the most though. That's a childhood dream come true, right there. When I was in elementary school and had much longer hair, I used to make my mother put my hair in Leia buns before we set off in the morning. Then I would proceed to play Star Wars at recess, and sometimes the boys would fight over who got to be Han Solo. Aw, childhood.
